DIY Hair Masks for Summer

DIY Hair Masks you can make from ingredients right in your kitchen and pantry can be a great relief during the summer.  If you’re starting to feel that the intensity of the heat and UV exposure is taxing the health of your hair, here are a couple good recipes for Hair Masks that you can make right at home!  Once you’ve determined which mask is right for you, mix your ingredients and apply to wet hair.  Pull hair into a bun (if necessary), and place all hair under a shower cap.  Activate the mask by blow-drying through the shower cap for about 10 minutes, and then leaving the mask on for another 15 to 20 minutes.  Shampoo and rinse as usual.

For damaged hair, try an Avocado, Egg and Olive Oil mask to infuse nourishment back into brittle, dull strands.  Ingredients: 1/2 Avocado, 1 Egg, 1 TBSP each of Olive Oil and Honey.  The abundance of Omega-3’s in this recipe can help restore vitality and shine.

For dull, limp hair, the recipe is simple.  Just mix equal parts of Apple Cider Vinegar, Raw Honey and Coconut Oil.  This combination will help restore moisture and shine.

If you’re hair is dry, a great combination for a DIY Hair Mask is Honey, Egg and Apple Cider Vinegar.  Use 1 Egg, 1 TSP of Honey and 1 TBSP of Apple Cider Vinegar.  If you don’t need the entire batch, the remainder can be stored in the back of your refrigerator for up to 1 week for a second treatment.
